General

The objective of WRIF is to help the operators of shops and buildings in the inner-city area to beautify and renovate their premises, and thus improve the overall appearance of our historic inner city. After experts have screened their renovation plans, the operators can obtain financial support from WRIF against favorable loan conditions.

Target areas

There are two areas in Willemstad within which operators may qualify for financial support, and they are:

  • Otrobanda: Breedestraat and part of Roodeweg as far as Hamelbergweg (Colon shopping center),
  • Punda: Between Waterfortstraat, Handelskade, Sha Caprileskade, De Ruyterkade and both sides of Pietermaai, from Wilhelminaplein to Julianaplein including Scharloo.

Terms and conditions

The terms and conditions of WRIF are as follows:

  • 5% interest per year (repayment within 5 years),
  • 6.5% interest per year (repayment between 5 and 7 years),
  • the maximum term of a loan is seven years,
  • the maximum loan is NAƒ 150,000.-, per building; in the event of more than one building belonging to the same applicant, in principle, a maximum of Naƒ300,000.- per applicant will apply.
  • Naf. 150.000,-; in het geval dat meerdere panden toebehoren aan dezelfde aanvrager geldt in principe een maximum van Naf. 300.000,- per aanvrager.
